About the Service
The Children's Services Programme is a new, countywide initiative delivering community based, inclusive and activity focused activities for children with complex disabilities across Community Disability Network Teams in Donegal and North Sligo. The Children’s service operates across four service strands:
- Green and Blue Therapy, nature-based and outdoor therapeutic activity sessions.
- Dance, Music and Movement, inclusive creative arts sessions.
- Inclusive Sport, Sensory Play and Fitness, adapted sport and physical activity.
- Family Support and Engagement, parent workshops, sibling groups, peer support and family participation.
The Children’s service is delivered across four geographic zones in Donegal in line with CDNT services e.g., Letterkenny North, East, Inishowen, Donegal West and South, North Sligo using No Barriers buildings and community venues including leisure centres, sports facilities, community halls, outdoor spaces and arts centres.
All activities are delivered by trained staff under the management of the Children's Activity Service Management team and/or No Barriers Foundation partnership organisation.
