Volunteer Activities
Our volunteers play a vital role in a variety of activities, including:
- Social Engagement: Interact with the people we support within your volunteering role.
- Group Activities: Participate in and support planned group activities.
- Building Relationships: Listen, converse, and build meaningful connections with those we support.
- Skill Sharing: Organise activities based on your skills, hobbies, and interests to align with the personal interests of the people we support.
- Activity Participation: Assist individuals in engaging in vocational, learning, and recreational activities.
- Room Organisation: Help the people we support tidy their rooms and organise their possessions and clothing.
- Community Access: Support individuals in accessing local community resources and activities.
- Event Assistance: Help with setup, participation, and cleanup at events.
- Activity Cleanup: Assist in tidying up after activities.
What We Don’t Ask
We do not ask our volunteers to engage in personal care, financial support, medical activities (such as feeding or administering medication), or any other responsibilities typically handled by our professional staff. Your role as a volunteer is to complement our team by providing additional support.
Desired Qualities
We look for volunteers who:
- Are Friendly: Show empathy and strive to understand the needs of those we support.
- Are Good Listeners: Pay attention and engage thoughtfully in conversations.
- Are Reliable: Consistently fulfill your commitments and inform us if you are unable to volunteer as planned.
- Follow Guidelines: Understand the importance of adhering to guidelines and promptly report any concerns to a supervisor.

Complete the application form to let us know when you are available, what your interests are, and what experience you might have.

Our team will be in touch to see if there is a service that matches your location and availability.
3.
If there is, then the team will organise an informal chat at the service so you can take a look around, ask any questions and see if it’s right for you.
4.
If successful, then a DBS check will take place and a start date and time will be agreed.
